Welcome to Kirinyaga County. Did you know that Kirinyaga County is(or should) be the richest county in Kenya.
Come to think of it.
We produce almost everything that this country depends on. If my research is not bad, Kirinyaga, more-so Central produces the best tea in the country. Don't be cheated that Kericho does. Kericho produces most but not BEST.
With one of the best and most successful irrigation scheme, Mwea (Kirinyaga South) produces the best rice that all Kenyan identify with, enjoy and are proud of. Mwea Pishori.
Of all the places I have been able to visit in and out of the country, the thing I have been so much proud of is the fact that majority of the residents have learnt to be self reliant and fight poverty and government dependency on many area. From community based Hydro-electric Power supply by the villagers for the Villagers projects, water supply to most of the families and other community-based amenities.

Sagana is the only place with fisheries research institute in the country. And now With the advent of the Economic Stimulus Program (ESP) we supply fish fingerings to the nation.

With this and more, Why is Kirinyaga poor and under-developed?
Who is standing on the window watching the county burn?
Who is to revolutionize the old Kirinyaga and bring bright future to the locals?
Do we elect the right people to govern us?
What are our strengths and opportunities?
Have we abandoned agriculture or have we been lied into forgetting our roots?
Who is to blame? Us or the political class?

I believe we have alot to comment and share; critique and inspire.

Lets discuss this and more to put our county in the limelight and compete with the rest of the country

THIS IS OUR BLOG.

Opinions are welcome.
